Stan Brown
Stan began his music career 40 years ago
when he started learning guitar.  It was
less than a year before he had his hands
wrapped around a banjo.  Since then he has
established himself as a solid musician in
his own right.

In 1977 he joined Wilma Lee Cooper's
Clinch Mountain Clan. Over the next four
years he appeared numerous times on
WSM's Grand Ole Opry and recorded two
projects for the Rounder Label.

In the early 1980's, Stan appeared on the
Grand Ole Opry with Bill Monroe and the
Bluegrass Boys and recorded two
television shows with Mr. Monroe.

In the 1990's it was time to return to his
native North Carolina where he as been
active with several bands, such as the
Bluegrass Experience and teaching banjo.
